A question for Goalies

Recommended Posts

Hey 'tenders,

I have a co-worker that plays goal. He's in his mid forties and has arthritic hips. He has no pain during the regular day in street shoes, but in skates even standing up straight hurts him.

Is it possible to use lifts or something to change the position of his blades/holders to give him a different standing/skating postition that may reduce his discomfort?

Anyone else have arthritis related hip pain? Let me know and I'll pass the info along to him.

It might be time to "bring him out back...and put him down"...like 'ol yeller...many older goalies experience this hip issue.

Don't want him to "blow a hip" mid-game...it's just the body's way of sayin' "more watching, less playing big fella". <_<

Fortunately, I haven't had a knee or hip issue yet, but the years are starting to pass faster and faster!!!

:D

cd.
