Tackla pants questions...

FINALY got my 5000x yesterday, after a 2week shipping nightmare. But these may be the greatest fitting pant i have ever put on. They are a little stiff in the hip pads but hopefull they will break in.

And Too Old what ever happend with your repaired lowers?

On your pros to the lower hip pads kinda go inside of the thigh pad a little bit? I notice mine do. havent skated in them yet to see if it feels weird. I noticed some overlap, Maybe this is normal, but ive never bought really expencive pants before.

Hmm... interesting question. I'll have to check and see. One thing I found was that I buttoned up the new TBL lowers to the Red Wing uppers... and when I'd hop the boards to the bench and sit the thigh pads would catch under the shins. But the lowers are new and I'd expect they'll break in a bit in time. For this weekend I've attached the Red Wing lowers to see how a broken-in pair compares.

I had a problem with that a few years ago with JOFA and RBK shins that didnt have the short thigh pad above the knee cap. Switched to ccm's and they dont give me that problem. And if you ever want to part with those redwings lowers let me know! Since i ordered the pants in black 2 weeks ago iv been looking everywhere for some red lowers!

I have a pair of Nike/Bauer size L lowers. They have padding like the Tackla lowers do. They're game-worn Red Wings (Kirk Maltby). ;) They're in pretty nice shape actually... no cuts/tears and a minimal amount of rash on them. They fit right onto the Tackla upper section. Trying to decide if I want to part with them or not... decisions, decisions...

Yes, they fit perfectly on them. I will likely part with them... just don't really need three sets of lowers. I'll grab some pics of them too and post them for you to take a peek at along with the Tackla lowers. Trying to thrash a drag race transmission together for a guy. Then I have about 5 more in line, lol. I wish there were more than 24 hours in a day!

Mainly I build GM Powerglides and TH-350/TH-400 automatic transmissions for drag race use. Also do them for dirt circle track, mud drag, truck pull, street/strip stuff too. Plus I sell parts such as Impact brand safety equipment, Jesel valvetrain gear, etc. Keeps me VERY busy as I have a fulltime day job besides that. And we have a 10 yr old daughter at home too... the older siblings are out and on their own... well, at least one of them usually is, lol. Hope to get pics up soon. :)

nice i used to co-op in a garage that was right next to a tranny store, had no clue what the crap they were doing, its so complicated
