Wheel Wobble

Recommended Posts

I usually clean my bearings once a month before tournaments and then put em all back together. but this time its been giving me trouble, i cannot find a way to get rid of wheel wobble. no matter how straight i put in the bearings theres always a side to side wobble like an un-true bicycle wheel or motorcycle wheel. Is i the actual wheel or is it the bearings not going in straight?

Also i have floating spacers if that makes a difference. I was thinking if i had normal spacers the bearings could be aligned better?

it could be the wheel pour or the actual hub itself might have a crack in it. Can you actually feel the wobble when you skate or just when you spin them?

the wheels are fairly new, and i havnt skated in a while on them, probably not but they slow down considerably.

what kind of skates are you using the floating spacers on?

Im with sdcopp you may need to swith to standard spacers depending on the frame and bearings..

you can't simply switch from floating spacers to standard spacers. Especially not with his Cobalts, the axle itself is too big in diameter to to fit through a standard spacer.

If the wobble is significant enough to slow you down then you would be able to feel it when you were skating. I think it's in your head.

You may just have to wait for your bearings to seed if they are turning slow. That or skate faster :-P

my bearings are fine, spin smoothly without any kinks or stoppages. they are bones swiss. I think its probably just the wheel pour then

Im pretty sure we all already knew this, hence the reason we ask what kind of skate he had so we could figure out what type of bolt/spacer combo we are looking at....HOWEVER it still could be the space between the actual wheel/bearings and the frame it self...Alot of frames with one piece bolts have had problems with either over tighting or not enough tighting...Then it could also be the wheels themselves.

its the wheels ive concluding to now. some wheels are perfect then others are really bad, some are so bad they'll stop spinning in like 3 seconds. ill just make due till i get new skates this seaso
