I just started playing hockey, and I was wondering, where in the pants do the players "tie-down" their jerseys?

there is the little hook in the back of the pants. about the same area where the suspender buttons are

Are you talking about a fight strap? If so, then usually its attached to the jersey at the bottom of the back and it hooks into the pants.

Thank you. I ordered the remainder of my gear today: I only had skates, gloves, and a stick for outdoor play. I now have the remainder for indoor play. I also recieved a Malkin EDGE jersey for my birthday over the weekend, and it has a fight strap.

i would recommend not wearing/ruining it. its a 300 dollar jersey wear it to nhl games not to play hockey with.

You wont ever need to use it though. No rec league anywhere is gonna require one.

I wouldn't worry about it. A lot of lower end pants don't even have a tie down in the back to accommodate it.
