CCM and Reebok Tent Sale

Recommended Posts

Well it may be good news from the ones who are willing to drive but there is a huge sign on the CCM-Reebok factory in Edmundston New Brunswick saying that they will be having a huge tent sale with all sorts of hockey equipment, even some Rocksport and Greg Norman stuff. I have no clue what the deals are gonna be but I am gonna go see if there are some affordable Reebok hockey gloves. It is supposed to start next week and finish in august. So if anyone is willing to drive, I will have the exact dates and times soon. Of you can simply e-mail me for info.

I just got an email from Gibson Guitars, they're doing the same thing in Nashville. My guess is everyone is just doing what they can to bring in as much income as possible in a down economy.

Do you know what kind of equipment do they make at that factory?

I've got to get my passport card tout de suite!

I know they make Reebok and CCM helmets and skate chassis, I would be pretty dissapointed if they would just be selling that.

They made a similar sell in Quebec a few weeks ago.

It was basically all old clothes and NHL apparel and some RBK 7K sticks.

Hopefully it will be better in NB :)

Sorry to interject a little bit of personal finance into the hockey boards but this is a perfect illustration of what this guy Eric Janszen was saying late in 2008... I've added a little bit of excerpts from his post on his site. Bottom line - stock up on good prices while they last because when supply gets cut back, that will be the start of inflation.

http://www.itulip.com/forums/showthread.php?t=6993

"Many retailers, especially discount chains, have already cut prices to cost. Shopping with the wife at a nearby Mall this past weekend we spotted tumbleweeds rolling down the isles of full price, brand name retailers while discounters offered goods Made in China, Indonesia and other lands at absurdly low prices.

The shoppers marveled. They felt rich, no doubt, as they snapped up the well crafted goods using cash and credit earned at an exchange rate value they may not see again for many years, unaware of the ephemeral quality of the precious purchasing power they wield this holiday shopping season in the final act of a 35 year consumption fantasy financed by other peoples' savings.

The holiday retailer strategy: those left with the least inventory after Christmas live to fight another day. Then the first half of 2009 goes like this.

- After Christmas sale 20% to 50% off

- Liquidation sale 50% to 80% off

- 30% to 40% of retailers go out of business

Advice to readers: take advantage of the early 2009 Great American Fire Sale and go out and buy all the generators, chain saws, washing machines, fine linens, and other durable goods you’re going to need for the next few years because by the end of 2009 most of the inventory may be sold through, many retailers will be shut down, and replenishment of stocks of the survivors will likely be meager; our models say that the goods import supply will decline more precipitously than the supply of money available to pay for them. That spells severe stagflation."

Exact days are July 31st to August 3rd. I know they will be selling Reebok apparel (tshirts, shorts etc), but I'm not sure what kind of hockey gear they are selling. If I get any information, I'll keep you guys posted.
