Howie's Hockey Tape

Does anyone have any input on this tape? How does it compare with Renfrew? They have pretty good prices on their website.

I ordered their tape about 2 years ago when I was playing more frequently, it was good but it didn't stick too well over time unless you wax your blade.

Agreed. I usually order in bulk and the prices are good. I would prefer it was a bit stickier, but I wax so it's not a deal-breaker.

I just ordered a case, using regular black Howie's for the blade (not friction). I waxed, and used a heat gun to melt the wax into the tape.

Other tape goes maybe 4 games max, Howie's is on game 8, and not wearing thin at all on the bottom.

My rink now stocks Howies because I kept badgering our rink manager to carry it. Outlasts renfrew by a long shot.

Sorry to high jack this thread sort of, but how does Lowry's tape compare to either of these two? Both the LHS I've gone to only sell Lowry.

Howies is the only hockey product I'm willing to buy at MC sports, I dont know why none of the the LHS I frequent will carry it. last the longest and it's pretty rare to get a bad roll.

vancouver is dominated by lowry's. i've had nothing but bad results from renfrew.

Howie's is the only tape I will use. To me it is the perfect thickness, and with a little bit of sex wax this tape lasts a long time.

I've never really found it to be one my my favorites. Always seems to get that string that tears off the edge all the way around the roll. Maybe thats just a personal issue....
