Computer Hockey Training

ideally i would think the best thing for them would be to not require you to have a computer or game system and just sell a stand alone product - but if they can't do that the next best thing would be to put the product out for every available system - you want to have the largest audience possible

I think it is reasonable to say most people who own an XBOX or PS3 would have a computer as well.

This is AWESOME! Anytime I can practice via video game, I'm happy. I can't wait for the day that playing the EA NHL games is interactive like this. Imagine the possibilities!

This is also a great way to get younger kids to practice all year round. I wonder if they'll develop programs for other aspects of the game (shooting, passing, goalie training, etc.)

Is the whole program online? In which case it says it includes 1 year of online access... meaning you have to renew it like a subscription every year or else you can't use the program anymore? For $200 I don't see that flying very well, hopefully I'm wrong.

I think it's 200 for the equipment, and you get one year free. After that there is probably a small fee associated with tracking your stats. I was trying to find a spot on the website that had more info but couldn't find anything.

I believe this is correct. The first year of online access is free and then there will be a membership fee.

Has anyone purchased this and got it setup in their house? I'm wondering if it is good on any surface as advertised or if I should get a shooting pad for the kids when I get one ?

I think this would fit in very well with the new project NATAL on the xbox. It is a complete motion sensing gaming technology that this would work perfect on. Google project NATAL if you haven't heard of it yet. THere are good videos to demonstrate. Its supposed to come out next year and work on existing 360's.

I also agree the price is high, especially considering that they have not stated anywhere how much ongoing online access will be. Its sounds to me like their software runs through your browser (shockwave), so that would require continued access to their server. In other words no online access no games. It wouldn't work at all.

i got one for my son for Xmas. I spent a little time trying it out before wrapping it up, it seems to work well on our hardwood flooring.

Was it easy to install?
