Difference between 2 piece pant and girdle/ shell

Hey Fellas, been wanting to try a girdle / shell combination and also have seen pro pants that are 2 piece and was wondering what the difference was between the two I have only seen pics of the outer part of the pro two piece pant what does the inner girdle look like or can you use a girdle with a 2 piece outer shell with the thigh pads. Any help would be appreciated, also any pics of pant combos would be great. Thanks.

A two-piece pant is just the same as a one-piece pant except you can take it apart via buttons. The top portion includes the, hip and sometimes tailbone pads while the lower portion is essentially a shell but with thigh pads.

A girdle sits closer to the body, tight, actually. The majority of players I know, myself included, use the lower portion of a two-piece pant in place of a regular shell with the girdle because it's added padding

Girdles seem to be less protective, especially in the in the kidney area
