Strong/Durable Blades?

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I'm a bit of an old traditional type and only use wood sticks. I play indoor 'sport court/hall' roller hockey and always tape up my blades to reduce/avoid wear.

I have gone through quite a few sherwood sticks lately as most of the blades on them have started to break down (where you can see lots of threads of wood, rather than fibreglass) after a few sessions - granted i do take a lot of shots.

Does anyone know if there is a brand of stick (wood) out there at the moment that has a good strong blade that can take a lot of abuse?

I have an old wood Titan ASD200 that i have used for years and not a single problem with it yet - i need something like this again...

cheers,

Rich

It isn't wood, but have you thought about giving the Sher-Wood 5030 Composite Core a shot? It is weighted and balanced exactly the same as the 5030 wood stick.

Ahh i was thinking about doing that

adding some fibreglass resin or something along the bottom, as they never seem to put enough down there

anyone else done this?
