Dissapointed rbk 8k stick

well this is not a old stick for sure. maybe like 5 games played on it. I was behind the net trying to get the puck off the net from behind and not roughly at all "slapped" the net to get the puck off and im 95% sure i didnt hit the backbar and even if i did its well padded. So over all i didnt know how this broke really. I got a penalty too for holding onto it because i was like in shock wondering how this happened.. thats like 3 sticks in the past 4 months. Its a shame too, because this was my favorite stick Iive EVER played with, and will probably be getting another one.

It happens.

It's possible that you had contact in that exact spot before this incident. There may have been a fracture in the composite leading it to be quite fragile. You might have hit the post right in thr exact spot and it just fell apart.

It's just the nature of composites.

blades improved for sure...but no where near the best of the bunch, like one95s, warrior dolo's, mission prostocks

True, The 9ko is one of the worst sticks in recent times. Thats why there still trying to sell them, its quite obvious there pure trash. I found the 8k blade to be surprisingly decent, however the 8k doesn't feel like a solid stick to me and never did, i broke one roughly where you did but my second ones going strong, its just something about them that doesnt feel real sturdy. I think its the weight.

i know what you mean. The stick is the lightest stick ive ever put into my hands. and has a "thin feeling" to it.

I know the 9K0 has been roundly denounced but the durability was good with mine. I got it cheap ($25) on craigslist so the poor reviews didn't scare me off. I used it for mid-level beer league twice a week from January through June-ish. In reality, it wore out before it broke. The blade was going soft and I cracked it over the boards in frustration one night during a 9-1 loss (immature, I know.)

Durability varies from stick-to-stick and player-to-player, but I figure 5-6 months of regular duty from a OPS is pretty good..
