RBK Gear

Recommended Posts

Anyone else out there have a problem with buying RBK gear?

My earliest memories of Reebok are 'Reebok Classic' trainers being worn by chavs and meat-heads over here in the UK, so naturally i'm already hating the brand.

But also, I dont like these brands that make kit for nearly every sport...just feels like they're not experts at hockey gear...

Brands that just do hockey gear, concentrate on hockey all the time, which gives me the impression that their gear would be better.

Discuss :)

Yeah, especially since Reebok bought out Jofa for their protective equipment.. and what the hell do they know about hockey gear, right? ^_^

I had a little bit of a hangup for that kind of stuff for a while. Whos's really left, though after all of the buyouts/takeovers (Nike/Bauer/Mission, RBK/CCM/Jofa, Warrior/Innovative/Montreal). Easton/Tps make an awful lot of baseball stuff, too. Not sure about some of the smaller manufacturers.

Had to let it go eventually. I'd look at RBK stuff 1st if I needed shoulder, shin or elbow pads.

I'm more annoyed by Warrior's marketing BS and the fact that they took over Montreal.

HSB - I know what you mean - i didnt say that these guys make cheap stuff, just dont like the mega brand thing - maybe i'm just pissed at the take over stuff like sickwilly is.

Sickwilly - I dont like Warrior stuff for exactly the same reason, stuff like "the glove to make you the fire dragon amongst your clan' haha - just uneccassary - let the product do the talking! (Their gloves do look sweet!)

Don't know how you can hate on rbk classics lol.

I had the original 8k helmet and gloves when they came out due to a sponsorship and I liked them alot. I would be more tempted to buy their skates if they did not have the pump on them, just seems like im paying an extra $50 for something that I would't want to use

Anything and Everything with the Reebok logo on hockey equipment is new to me.

With that being said, I had the sa me sort of opinion that you have.

However, I now have a couple Reebok things.

RBK 6k Girdle - love it. Can't think of anything to complain about.

I just got a pair of RBK 5k shafts that i haven't used yet.

I just picked up a pair of RBK 8k inlines and they are really nice. I also had a pair of 8k (non pump) skates for ice which I was happy with as well. Those are the only RBK things Ive had but both really high quality/performance and very good fit as well.
