These look to be even more protective than the 800s - I don't have any direct experience with them though.

I was actually surprised at just how much spinal protection my Easton Synergy ST4's had...

Good fit, comfortable, and pretty cheap too.

The 5000 is tackla's top retail pant. If you can find them in your size, go for it.

They're cheap now because eagle bought the line and the older non eagle stock is being cleared out.

Actually, never mind, the HP 5000 is not the 2 piece version, which is the top one. That's not the top end pant. Sorry about that.

Still very good though.

i was thinking about the ccm tacks or lousville pants...their cheap and look like they have good protection...any clue about them?
