width vs heel?

i had a pair of 9.5EE XXXX skates and the width was great but the heel i think was a lil too big cause i was starting to get the( bauer) bumps if i were to drop down a half size would that make the heel smaller? or does the width of the skate have nothing to do with the size of the heel?

EE comes with a B heel, sound like you need the A heel that comes with the D width. Custom (9.5EE/A) sounds like the right fit. Going to a shorter length will not make the heel fit properly.

thanks for the help chad, i may not even need EE skates i fit myself at greatskate last year so..
