Easton S17 to the S12

Just wanted to see if anyone knows how much you are losing taking a step down from the Easton s17 to the s12 skate. There is a considerable price drop between the two, so is the boot itself less stiff, durable, comfortable or does it have to do with the steel and runners?

Steel and holders are the same(Razor Blade 2) The difference is in the liner and the boot material is also better in the s17

If your not a high end or pro player the difference between the S-17 and S-12 is negligable. It's not going to effect your performance to any noticable degree on the ice. The last poster is correct the S-17 is made of higher end and lighter materials but the S-12 is still an excellent skate for the price offering great protection, fit and performance. I used to buy the top of the line skates but found it made very little difference in the way I played on the ice so now I go one model down and it's worked well for me. The S-12 will be my next skate because I simply can't afford seven bills for the 17.
