Stiffness Comparision: Bauer 7000 Pro Stock vs. Supreme One95 custom

Recommended Posts

First off let me say hello, I was a member when this was corebeam.net but can't remember my login. I have browsed this board often over the years, finally am going to ask a question not found using the mighty search button.

I have Bauer Supreme 7000 Pro Stocks. These skates are not the most comfortable, but they are massively durable. They are super stiff, which is what I need.

I am a powerlifter, so I need to be heavy 2/3rds of the year, and I will destroy a weak skate. I have handled top end skates in shops and I can't believe how flexible their sidewalls are. My 7000's do not move outward whatsoever. They just somewhat flex in.

From what I gather from JR's posts, custom skates have a 1-4 stiffness rating, with 2 being retail. Hopefully JR or someone else has experience with this skate, as I am hoping a Custom One95 with a 4 stiffness rating would equate to my Pro Stock 7000s.

Also on custom skates, can the skate be cut to accommodate a high instep? I was going to say "vamping" but I thought that was the vertical height of the skates, and instep would refer to the diagonal from heel to instep.

I look forward to contributing to this board, and have been a member of forums for some time. Respect will alsways be shown. I will already see I can add some reviews here.

Are your 7000 pro stock generic fit or you were fitted?

I used to have two pairs of 7000s pro stock generic fit and then ordered (at a distance) custom One95s regular stiffness same generic size (8.5 C/AA) as my pro stock 7000s were They One95s are very stiff skates. I think they are stiffer than the 7000s in their regular stiffness. Try on stock version of One95s. They might do the job, provided their last works for you as it's quite different last than the 7000s'. Heck, they're totally new concept of skates. - They're wider, w/wider toe box and probably less agile than the 7000s. That's my personal experience. Love them. Not sure about the longer profile blade though. Will try the shorter LS2 Step Steel version.

I would suggest looking at the X:60s instead of the One95s. I had my Vapour XXXXs made with a stiffness 3 and they were good and sturdy.
