Girdle and Elbow

Recommended Posts

Heyy

When i made my order a while ago they didnt have girdles in my size so now im looking into them..

What would you recomened? I will be buying from either inline warehouse or hockey monkey... max i will pay is probably about 40 bucks but if something is far beyond the rest in performance for a little extra i would like to know also :) Cant have bauer or easton

Also could somebody recomened a pair of elbow pads for around the same price, i have no idea what im looking for ( i will be in junior size elbows i think so prices will be cheaper for some items :) )

Once again no bauer or easton

Thanks for your help in advance

I choose to wear neither when I play, so I can't really help you.

But as far as the elbow pads go, I'd look for something relatively simple if I were you. those expensive complex pads are almost too much padding most of the time. Plus they never stay on your arms.

The elbows arnt as improtant as the girdle but it would still be nice to own a pair

I dont particually want to be hit my a rock solid puck straight to the thigh or whatever, ive been hit in the nuts and by geez i wont as much protection there as i can get

I've got the Mission NME Nine-1 Elbows... very nice, light, and low profile. I've always prefered the wrap girdle... if I didnt have the CCM Pro wrap, I would have gotten these... the only pieces of gear that I've got that arent mission is the helmet (tried on the NME helmet, but it was a size too small)

Look at these:

Id prefer something with a little bit of cup protection also so it kinda gets rid of those wrap things, to be honest they look like they enough the shit outta me anyway

Would i be best to go with the new mission girdles or just stick to the old models?

for girdles, have a look at the TOUR or VALKEN units. both solid as a rock, and won't set you back too much. as for elbows, well thats personal preference... some people can wear the big bulky units, others can't...

for elbow pads or shin pads you CAN NOT go wrong with rbk... that is what the pros all wear so if it is good enough for them then it'll be good enough for you. if you don't know and ordering online play it safe B)

Between the hockey shows and shops, I've tried on every brand on the market. The lightest, most comfortable elbows I found are my Nike Bauer 70s (and up) with a wide soft stretchy cloth forearm strap that does not bother the inside of my arm at all and I can't tell I have them on after ten seconds on the rink. The small super light forearm slash guard fits right over a big slash mark from a jagged blade that I got with my former minimalist elbows. I have Vapor XXV shins and they (along with their betters) are made the same. No interference with playing at all. Those and my Thorax do the trick, totally.
