Bad luck with easton

Wood sticks all the way

You boys must be filthy rich to keep buying composite sticks.

I would have bought a composite by now if it wasnt for all the threads about broken shafts, taper problems, blade problems, handling/shooting problems, cost etc.....let alone all of the 'stick surgeons' out there...

...there must be a lot of breakages if someone can earn a living fixing them!!

I'll keep my heavy wood stick and continue to have money in my pocket and a harder shot than the rest of the team...

In my first 18 months of hockey, I broke 11 wood sticks at $20-$35 a pop. since then, 17 months later, I've bought three composites, 2 for $100, one for $75. None of them have broken, one I sold because of the curve, and another I just stopped using because of the curve and lie. The first $100 stick I used as my #1 stick for over a year before I decided to sell it. the other $100 stick I bought in September of 2008 and is still going strong. As for the $75 stick, it was a piece of crap from a misleading ad that has been relegated to driveway duty, all though it still hasn't broken.

i just got back from my LHS that has abunch of pro stock and unnamed sticks.. I looked at the easton's and they got in a bunch of @17s for 190 with in store trade in warranty. Man do they look brittle. I wonder how many nhler's actually use the s17 and s19. I ask this because I saw an Alffy easton that at first I though twas an S17 but it was just an SE painted to look like an S17. Anyways, the alfy pro stock blade looked very durable compared to the retail ones. Pro stock U+ and 10k's seemed super durable.

I just dont want to buy a £150/£200 stick...wait a month for it to arrive from the USA...then have it break in a freak accident - it would kill me! I'd rather stick with the wood sticks and go through a few at £25 a pop.

I guess it's just cheaper and easier in the USA - as in the UK, we have to save then wai ages to get our hands on a decent stick....so it's offputting

They don't want to pay Euro retail prices.

my S17 lasted a few months.

I got a new S19 this morning. Taped it up, played. Took the tape off when I got off the ice and saw that the blade was completely cracked down the middle. C'est la vie. Kept my receipt. hehe

ouch.. well you must have stuff that has been out for 1-2 years.. the dolomite isnt a brand new stick and thats one i will always be confident using.. along with the older easton stuff.. the si core was actually pretty good. i think of all the eastons ive used, the yellow grip synergy was the weakest.
