Blademaster FB - equivalent hollows

Recommended Posts

I've been skating on Blackstone FBV and love it, but I'm thinking of trying the Blademaster FB because it's available a lot closer to me than the closest Blackstone shop. I'm trying to determine which BM hollow to ask for, but there doesn't seem to be much information available about it. Does anybody have any idea about what traditional ROH (or even FBV hollow) would be roughly equivalent to the Blademaster X6, 7 or 8? For reference I skate on 9/16 ROH and have been using 90/75 FBV but have been thinking about trying out 100/50 to get a little more (but hopefully not too much more) grip. Thanks.

I sharpen skates with the blademaster BFD (flat bottom) , i like it better than the blackstone. i had a 90/75 before i used the blademaster. i got an x7. and it gave me a little more bite. give the x7 a try. the x6 is super sharp. we dont even has a x6 form in the store because no one has ever asked for it.

give it a try you wont be disappointed.

Just curious what you like better - better edge - longer lasting - can use the sweet stick if needed - like dressing the wheel better - easier sharpening - more forgiving for bent blades - or better feel on the ice for turning - better product or just preference - thanks
