When Chelios got playing time last year - aside from obviously being a bit rusty from sitting all the time - he was pretty damn good, and still has a ton of offensive creativity. I think he lacked a bit of jump from not getting in-game work, but he's tough to play against for sure.

There are probably a bunch of teams out there that could use him - the Rangers, for instance with their logjam of crappy, overpaid defensemen - but free-agent veterans get the shaft because they gave out bad contracts and are strangled by the 'cap.

I think it would do the Rangers good to sign him. He could teach the younger guys what you are actually supposed to do on defense, instead of making dumb plays like rosival and reden.

...The girdle is similar to the old CCM classic black model (before the blue model that's currently available) and is all sorts of stitched up. It's very possible it started as a Cooper girdle (his particular girdle is grey) and had CCM-type pads put in at some point.

Best girdle I've ever had. Well, come to think of it... I've never used any other girdle (in case you couldn't tell from the pic)
