Mission Skate Problem

Recommended Posts

So I ordered a pair of Mission Boss skates ('08 model) from hockeymonkey and I received the skates only to find when I went to take the wheels out that the axels were completely stripped. Anyone else have a problem like this? I talked to hockeymonkey and they said to send them back to look at them and see if they had been "tampered" with. If they tell me I stripped them and they won't replace them I'm gonna be pretty pissed off. One of my friends told me I should just call Mission directly, would this be a better option?

I went on their site and it basically said for anything other than sticks you have to contact the retailer you purchased the product from. Anyway though, hockeymonkey just called me back about two hours after I called them and said they were just going to send me new axels, but I would need to get the ones that were too stripped to unscrew drilled out at a LHS.

What was stripped, that actual screw part that hooks the two pieces together, or the space where the allen wrench fits?

There were problems with both the boss and boss se lines shipping with axles that were super tight, and people were stripping the allen wrench part trying to get them out.

Either way, contact mission. Their should be an email option on the webpage. I stripped the axles on my LT's, and I just emailed and the guy I talked with sent me two, even though I only needed one. Mission has a super good reputation with customer service, and it seems to be continuing even after being bought out.

This has been talked about before and was a problem for many people even myself with the 08' boss skates. When justin (or other mission rep) I believe was on here he asked for everyones addresses and within a week sent all new axles out to everyone who had a problem. Great service so call and there should be no problems!!
