i'm trying to make a highlight movie with a bunch of clips of goals. only some videos go in does anyone know what type of format or how to get videos in the i movie.

do you have os 10 or 9? If you have 10 or later, you can import them into imovie (mpeg format) but they won't have any sound.

when i try to drag the video in it just says i movie cant open the clip

mov avi mpeg I believe. Actually Im not sure about the avi. You are probably trying to import an asf or a wmv if youre getting these from a video camera. If its from a sony, it may be some weird ass proprietory format.
