Fire0nIce228 1 Report post Posted October 10, 2004 I got hit knee to knee today in game and my knee is killing me. I skated on it for a period and a half and can walk on it and stuff, but it is hurting really bad. Should I get it checked out at the hospital just to make sure, since knees are pretty important? mack 44 Report post Posted October 10, 2004 You can walk on pretty bad injuries so don't think you're free and clear if you can hobble on it. I'd get it checked out, especially after knee-to-knee contact.
Thockey17 1 Report post Posted October 10, 2004 have it checked out. When i shattered my knee, i finished the rest of the game on it, and walked on it for a little bit, then the next day it was absolutely killing.
Fire0nIce228 1 Report post Posted October 12, 2004 Hey thanks guys, turned out I have a inner fracture or something in my knee. I have to wear a knee immobilizer all the time for 2 weeks atleast. After that depending on how it feels I might be able to start playing again. It just wanted to let people know, it took them 5 diffrent x-ray angles to find my fracture, so either they suck or something, but if you think you might have a problem with you knee get it checked out. I skated half a game on mine and took some checks and stuff with it, and walked on it afterwards and didnt go get x rays until the next day, and I have a semi serious injury. So if you think you might have a problem get it checked out.

Ouch sucks to hear about another person with a fractured knee. An immobilizer? Hmm, my doctor(doctor for mets/jets/islanders) didnt make me wear anything, and i shattered my knee in 4 spots. They had to take over 10 Xrays for my knee, and an MRI. It wasnt too much fun just to sit there listening to the "on-hold" music.Goodluck, and have a speedy recovery. J-Shera 0 Report post Posted October 13, 2004 MRI's suck, Ive had 4 in my life(im only 16) and they are the most annoying thing ever. You cant move and the noises it made were loud and annoying. If you ever suspect somethings wrong with your knees make sure you check it out. When i first tore my MCL in grade 8 my hockey instructor Brad Tippet said that if it was torn I wouldnt be able to walk on it so he said i could play the next day. Well the next day the same thing happend except it completly tore this time. Anyways long story short, if you suspect somethings wrong consult a doctor. bulletproof_funk 0 Report post Posted October 13, 2004 Speedy recovery, '228.I was doing an on-ice exercise a few years ago wearing full equipment, went down on one knee, and somehow I felt a small popping sensation in my right knee. It seemed harmless at the time and I never got it checked out. I hadn't any prior knee injuries before, so in my ignorance I just tried resting it. Now it hurts momentarily when I put weight on it while bent about 90 degrees even though I can still skate ok. I'm sure something is torn in there, x-rays showed nothing. What's worse, my doctor insisted I don't do any activity for three months, apply hot packing to my knee and somehow hope my body heals itself. <_< I'm going to make another appointment and see if the doctor's finally willing to refer me to a specialist or still insist I can somehow fix myself.
