Pants to protect the hip

Hi guys,

Was wondering what your suggestions are for new pants that have the most protection around the hip joint. Just got drilled right on the ball of my hip last night and can barely walk. My team issued Muskoka's aren't cutting it. I searched and found suggestions for pro stock's (e.g. RBK 520, Tackla 5000 Pros, Jofa 7000) but is there anything at the retail level that offers a great amount of hip protection? Maybe the Eagle X88s? Heard rumours that they are essentially rebranded Tacklas. Would the girdle version (GX88) with a shell be a good option? Options below $120 would be ideal. Any and all help/suggestions is appreciated.

I had been struggling with hip injuries for a while but have been pretty good ever since I started wearing the CCM vector series.

They are pricey, but got with custom Warrior Hustlers with the beefed up padding. I had problems with my hips as well, but no more.

I just found some Eastons at Sports Authority, and they have plastic cups at the hip, much like shoulder pads do on the shoulder...

I don't remember. Somewhere between $250 and $350. Your LHS should be able to give you an exact price.

CCM/RBK 520's have some pretty absurd hip protection.
