Easton SE10 vs S9 skates

Recommended Posts

Looking to replace a pair of Easton S7 skates that are getting worn down, and were a bit too shallow for my foot anyway. I have read positive comments on the SE10's here. I do like the fit of the S7's other than the slight depth issue. Would I be better off with an SE10 or does the S9 model have more depth than the S7.

The Stealth line of skates will have a shallower depth than the Synergy, the Synergy will fit with more volume and softer materials in the ankles. I would go with the Synergy, especially one that has the Vibram toe cap.

You would probably do better with the Synergy line. They're not really supposed to fit much different, but there's more padding in the synergies so you could probably get a little more depth out of them.

And there's a pretty good jump in performance from the S9 to the SE10. The S11 is the approximate match for the SE10 performance wise. 10 is where they start the one piece composite boot with the COIL stuff, which IMO really is all it's advertised to be.

I agree, although my feet will never fit into an Easton skate, I've suffered to try the coil and wow. Bauer took that idea with the TOTALONE. Interesting? Sure.

Thanks for the replies, everyone. I think the Synergy line would do better. I had a pair of Synergy 500's briefly and although the LHS fit me 1/2 size too big and they were a bit too flexible, they fit nicely otherwise. Will maybe try for a pair of SE10's on closeout or wait for the new EQ line to hit the stores. Might also wait on the new Supreme lineup as well. Apreciate the feedback, skate fitting can be frustrating!
