pad advice

Recommended Posts

hey everyone.. im looking into getting new pads for this upcoming season because my current itech RX7s are pretty brutal... i'm down between either the new Warrior Messiahs or Bauer One Onehundreds (note i'm also looking at getting the glove and blocker) which would you suggest and why?

Do you not like the RX7 Stuff, or is it just worn out? If you don't like it, what don't you like about the gear? Your viewpoint on your current stuff might make deciding on what's best for you down the line a bit easier.

there was nothing wrong with the pads themselves, i just wasn't very pleased with the quality of the RX7s... they didn't hold up very well at all, and i only got less than a year out of them, whereas with my old eagle's i would get 2-3 years out of pads..

what i do like about pads is the flat face.. i've always been able to control my rebounds better with the flat pads, which makes me think i would like the Bauer pads more, but i'm always open for trying new stuff out, and think that if i try the Warrior's i might fall in love with the rolls.. another advantage of Warrior is i'm in love with their sticks, and i absolutely hated the Bauer sticks

I think its worth giving the new bauer reflex 10 pads. While pretty similar to the RX7, you are looking at a pro pad, so maybe thats the difference you need? The new line looks pretty sharp so i might be worth a second look. Bauer seems to have been working hard on their goalie equipment while Warrior is a whole new thing, so you never really know whether or not Warrior will hold up to the high standard. The best thing for you to do is to go in stores and try them. Thats sort of the same with the gloves. I'm sure the two brands have great gloves, but if you don't like the breaks, etc. then the product is useless to you. I realize its hard to find all of it in store, but I guess thats the best thing to do? Hope that helps
