Noticed his number was on the boards and behind the nets, I'm assuming that means he's played his last game as a senator. Is he retiring? or are they letting him walk, a la Barry Bonds? Whats the story here, I haven't heard anything about it.

It's "Daniel Alfredsson Day" in Ottawa in celebration of his 1000th NHL game.

Oh, ok, that makes sense. I'm not a fan of putting the number every 10 feet on the boards though, just seems weird to have it on there 30 times.
