Broken Z-Carbon Blade

Recommended Posts

I just broke an Easton Z-Carbon blade in my Innovative Shaft. It broke right at the end of the shaft so I'm wondering how I can remove it?

The day before I had an Easton Pro Return wood blade in the Innovative shaft and it broke in the exact same place. Is it possible that the shaft is contributing to the breakage or could it be just a coincidence?

Drill a screw into what's left of the blade and heat the shaft as normal. You can then use the screw to pull it out by either tying a string around it or just pulling it out with a pair of pliers.

I did this with the wood blade and am wondering if this will also work with a carbon blade? Will the screw have enough "grip" to be able to pull out the broken shaft? When I look into the broken shaft i just see two sides with a foam-like substance.

Should work fine. If you can, use a sheetrock screw. They have larger threads so they will grip a little more.

If the screw doesn't work, you will have to use something to poke it out from the other end like a long metal rod.
