Synergy ST

Recommended Posts

Being a tall guy, I just noticed Easton is coming out with the 2010 Synergy ST model in a 65" model. This is a stiff twig too...115 flex. I saw a LH version of this stick at my LHS yesterday and it looked great. Has anybody used one of these yet? Anyone know if it might be offered in different flex patterns?

-Thanks, Todd

I have one and it is awesome. You have to cut it down to 63 inches though to reach 115 so it is more like a 105. That is the only flex the longer stick comes in though.

I have two and am very pleased with the stick. I prefer long sticks (63-64 inches) and very stiff as well.

Although I don't think it feels like a 'true' 115-flex (I find all Easton's play whippier than marked), it is still better than buying a 100 or 110 and adding a 4+ inch extension. As mentioned above, the 115-flex mark is at 63-inches.

The shaft has a great feel to it (non-grip). IMO it is more slick than a standard non-grip coating. It is not a light stick, but also does not feel heavy at all. It is very well balanced. I have only used mine in roller hockey, but the blade feel is one-par with the One95 I used for roller last year.

The stick has also been super durable so far. The paint area down by the hosel and blade chips easily, but that is it. I have taken a few slashes and blocked a few shots that I felt would be hard enough to break any other stick and the ST just smiled in their face.

I have owned something like 40+ sticks over the past 1.5 years (almost every stick was a $150+ one as well) and so far have found this stick to be the most ideal for me.

If you are looking for an ultra-low weight dangling machine, it may not be the stick for you. If you like a stick that has some weight/feel to it and play a more "grinder" game, then you can't go wrong...

For what it's worth, I used a regular ST for a while before it broke, and I thought it had the best puck feel of any stick I've used so far. I mostly use 2-pieces, but I've also used One95's and a U+, and the ST was better in my opinion. Part of it might be because I use 75 flex, so it tends to give sticks a slightly softer feel, but I was in love with it before it broke.
