Comparison of blades across manufacturers/lines

Recommended Posts

I am not affiliated with this company in any way, although it is my local hockey shop, and they are a really great shop to deal with IMO. Anyway, I found this tool where you can pick a blade, and then you get a comparison to other blades, so that you know what to buy. Just wanted to share this, because for me, comparing lies, curve types, etc, on a spreadsheet can be hard.

The tool itself is easy to use and nice.

But I look for matches for an Easton Iginla and it gives back:

Crosby, Vanek, Coffey, Lindros,...

I think a lot of guys on this board aren't going to be pleased with that

On a completely different note, I still can't understand why blade angle (open, closed, etc) can be decided by how much of the face you can see from the top of the shaft.

I mean, this is an extreme example, but you would still be able to see the face of a blade with a minus angle(if you know what I mean.. it would naturally cup the puck against the ice in neutral position) if it was as deep (or deeper) than the Coffey/Yzerman. And I wouldn't consider that "open" at all.

Thanks for the post, I saw this awhile ago but lost the link.
