shoeshine boy 242 Report post Posted August 7, 2010 we FINALLY got a new rink in the Atlanta metro area - The Ice http://www.theice.info/they opened for kids' try-outs and beer league play this morning. my team just happened to be the playing in the first ever game. this is a GREAT facility. 1st class all the way. this is the first rink in Atlanta with a concrete sub surface. that made for much faster, harder ice. shoeshine boy 242 Report post Posted August 9, 2010 Gotcha just curiousjust for the record: the new rink = AWESOME!!!! it's got a concrete base so the ice is hard and FAST! the facility is first class all the way. my linemate has the honor of the first goal. the rink's owner even came into our locker room after the game and gave him a special hat for having the first goal in his rink. very cool!
