Eagle PPF Pro Preferred Hybrid

I did a search didnt' find much, I'm looking at buying a pair of these eagle ppf hybrid gloves, but i'm wondering what's the deal with this hybrid stuff? what purpose does it serve? Does it make the glove heavier?

Serves no purpose at all, other than looks. The shell is part synthetic leather, part nylon.
