Upgrading from Bauer 5000 gel shin guards

My 7 year old Bauer Supreme 5000 gel shin guards are still holding up and protect well, but I'm looking to shed some weight and figured they might be a good place to start. Anyone know how much these puppies weigh compared to the best protecting shin guards today? Can anyone recommend a good replacement for these without sacrificing protection?
