Couldn't help but bump this.

I got the EQ50 shaft. It comes with four adjustable 5 gram weights. It's a mind-f***k how many to use, or if to use them at all. And I have an 11k blade on (that's technically 9 grams heavier than a true EQ50 blade but it's suppose to have more weight in the heal). I'm a huge SE16 shaft fan however there aren't many left. Anyone else use this shaft or have any ideas what they would do with the weight?

The SE16 shaft with an SE16 blade is awesome but durability wise it's horrible - the blade can't take a beating at all and goes soft. So I've been using heavier more durable blades however you can tell the balance of the stick isn't as nice. Maybe I can use the EQ50 to set that off or is it just a gimmick and I am over-thinking it....

Probably over-thinking the weights. I threw the weighted end plug in my bucket of left-over junk (end plugs, etc.), put the same wooden extension I would put in any shaft/OPS, and the EQ50 felt just like anything else.

If anyone is still interested in this shaft it plays very similar to the SE16. I weighed both my SE16 and my eq50 and the eq50 weighed about 10 grams less than the se16 without the weighted plug. The plug is actually 27 grams (4 x 5 gram weights + the actually plastic butt-end insert weighing about 7 grams).

In the end I would say the plug is non-factor. While you can definitely notice it with all the weights in there, I don't think it helps unless you use the eq50 blade.

I find these shafts at full length for me break in very quickly so keep that in mind if you ever buy one. My 85 plays like a 75 and my 100 plays like a 85 after some quick use. I bought a Dynasty 85 and it played stiffer than both of these - too stiff for my liking.

Thanks for the insight... in market to get one and looking at dynasty vs eq50
