CCM Vector vs Kor Shift 2 fit

Recommended Posts

I've done some poking around about info on Kor skates, but have been unable to find a clear answer to how the fit compares to CCM skates.

CCM skates fit me pretty well, even without baking. I can wear size 8.5E or 9 E. I have pretty wide feet, and can't wear anything narrower (I have to tie my CCMs while standing to "fatten" my foot before tightening the skate).

I'm currently in a Vector 10.0, size 8.5 E. The same size has also been fine in Externo E60s and 1052s. Another member has a pair of Kor Shift 2 skates for sale in a size 9.5 . I've heard that the sizing in Kors is a bit different. Can anyone tell me if these are likely to provide a similar fit to a CCm in a 8.5E or 9E?

Any help is much appreciated. Thanks!

I wore Vectors very briefly before buying my first pair of KORs years ago. My correct Vector size would've been 7.5E (it's not the size, I had which was why I sold them and moved onto KORs, but I did figure out the proper size after I sold the skates). I wear 8.5D in KOR Shift 1's and 2's. The Vector series is narrow, in E it's managable, but not ideal for my wide feet. Both the KOR Shift 1's and 2's respond extremely well to heat when properly baked - they'll feel very tight when you put them on before baking, but will expand nicely.

The Shift 2's are deeper than both the Shift 1's and the Vector Skates. Both KORs fit approximately 1 size up from Vectors so if any size will work for you in KORs it will likely be the 9.5.

If you have a wide foot with some decent volume then the Shift 2's may fit you better than your Vectors. You won't know until you try them on, but I'd go for it if the skates being sold are in good condition.

Thanks, althoma1. That was exactly the kind of info I was looking for. Sounds like they may be good for me to try. Do you happen to remember/know what kind of footbeds come with them, or might work well with them?

Grey Superfeet come with the Shift 2's.
