has anyone used one of these? how does it work? does it work ok? i'm guessing its similar to the quarter trick but probably works a little better. i'd like to get something (cheap) to double check the poor sharpenings i get

I have them at the store I work at. It's pretty simple, 2 pieces, each has magnets on it and one piece has a series of colors on them (not all do ) and if the other piece lines up in green, the blade is even if it is in red the blade is not even. I'm not really sure if it really works or not, I always have both pieces straight, so either I'm a good sharpener or the tool doesn't work. I've also seen some that are weight balanced. Similar to when you step on one of those scales at the doctors office, it tips to one side.
