Broken thigh pad in Tackla 9000 pants

Basically as the title states I have found that one of the plastic thigh pad inserts on my Tackla 9000 pants is broken in half. Do I just need to find an old pair of pants and take the plastic insert out of them? Does most of the Tackla line of pants (model and size) use the same shape/size of insert? I'm going to have to brush up on my sewing skills.

Worst case you can cut down any plastic pad with a dremel.
