Just got RBK 6k inlines !

Recommended Posts

I just picked up the RBK 6k 2010 inlines 9.5 D from Hockey Monkey for $155.

I played 1 game with them on Saturday. Pure skating bliss. I used the stock wheels for 1 outdoor game and they got torn to shreds. haha. Got to pick up some outdoor wheels tomorrow for my game on Saturday. The footbed feels great with my flat arches and the width seems fine. I wonder if I should get a 2nd pair and have an ice blade bolted onto it. The RBK 2010 ice skates have a very different arch than the inlines do. Very painful for my flat feet !

I trick I've seen one of my flat-footed buddies do with his skates to eliminate arch pain was to go buy a pair of the cheap odor-eaters type insoles & cut them into three pieces so you have separate fore-foot, arch, & heel sections. Throw the arch section away, & use double sided tape to secure the fore-foot & heel sections to the regular insole. This basically raises the insole around the arch & effectively flattens it out.

Played a 4 hour pickup game today. Bad blister developed on my left heel, but the arch was pain free. I'll deal with blisters from breaking in the new skates....... I wonder if getting them baked would reduce the blisters in the heel? As I said though, I'll play through blisters as long as the arch is pain free.

The RBK 6k skates come with Abec 9 bearings btw.
