Graf 609 supra vs graf 727 cyber flex

Recommended Posts

Can any one tell me as to the fit of the Graf 727 cyberflex skate.

I was wondering if the fit is similar to the Graf 609 supra which fits me. 609's are in need of a replacement and i have an opportunity to pick up a used pair of 727's in regular width. I currently wear a 609 in wide width. I'm told the 727's are supposed to accomodate a wide foot but was curious as to the differences between the two models and if a regular width in the 727's would be similar to the wide width of the 609. 727's are via the internet so I won't have the opportunity to try them first.

Did a search but could not find much and Graf's website no longer lists either of these models on their site.

Any knowledge shared would be much appreciated

Thx

Never worn the 609 but the 727 is very wide. They are very different in terms of stiffness though, the 727 is a very soft, low-cut boot. Personally, I like that, but it will be a huge change from the higher-cut, stiffer 609.

Thanks Chadd, appreciate the feedback and the insight on the 727....did not realize the cut of the boot was so different. I am a fairly decent skater however always skated in a stiff boot. Been doing this for a while and remember skating in old CCM super tacks circa early 80's in college, I assume not as stiff as today's skates but heck I did not know the difference back then.

I guess I could always give em a try and if I don't like them I could just re -sell them. Price is around $100 bucks so not a big gamble.

Thanks again.

I don't find the 727 very wide...very similar cut to the 705, just lower. If fact, they were billed at having the 705 geometry with greater flexibility.

I didn't fit in 705W but I did fit very comfortably into 727W. Mine were not the same as the 705.

705 geometry claim was from Graf, and I've found it to be generally true, but hey. Could your experience relate to depth, Chadd? I wouldn't be surprised if they are a bit deeper than a 705. Anyway, I've got a narrow heel, narrow-regular forefoot, but a deep instep, and the 727R fit me well. If they had the 703 heel, they'd be perfect for me.

I would say the 727 was deeper as well. I don't recall any issues like I had with my 705s but it has been eight or nine years since I had my 727s.

Hey Chadd, what's the modern equivalent of the 727? I'm still using my pair, and they suit me quite well. Of course, they are starting to fall apart and eventually will have to be replaced. What should I be looking at? The deep, wide fit is great for my feet.

Andrew... deep and wide would be the 709. The G70 might work for you if you went with a W width, but only you would be able to tell while trying the skates out.
