Eyeglass coating on hockey visors?

Recommended Posts

Is a high end coating like the ones found on prescription glasses something that can be applied to a hockey visor to make a highly durable and fog resistant model?

I've definitely noticed how well my RX lenses perform and want that kind of performance on my hockey visor, although it might be prohibitively expensive.

Here is some information about one brand of coating:

can't see why it's not possible. However the cost would be high. It was $95 for anti glare on my son's eyegalss lenses(polycarbonate). They were a much smaller item.

You already get visors with Anti-fog coating. Pro visor are double sided hardcoated. While your idea for the application seems fine. Eye glasses and Visor are used differently. No visor would fog if it was 1/2 inch from your eye. the reality is the visor is an inch above your nose and mouth and mount right in your area where breath goes when you exhale. If your glasses were mounted in the same spot it would be the same problem.

It really comes down to hot air in a cold rink. Just like a my glasses fog up when I come in from the cold.

I still waiting for the day someone can prove their visor fogs up going up and down the ice.
