Reebok 7K Pump Dusk (09) vs Reebok 6K Pump (2010)

Recommended Posts

Info : 6'3 - 250lbs - Size 11.5 skate, fairly wide foot - 2 to 3 times a week playing on sports court.

About a week ago, I decided to get some new inline skates for my upcoming league. Currently I wear the Reebok 7K Dusk (BTW the skate is a dime, really good skate) but, I feel as if I were to buy them again I would feel "outdated". I was wondering what are the key differences between these two skates? Should I stay with what I already know, or should I invest in a newer model?

Any help is useful - Thanks,

AMHEFT

Im pretty sure that they updated the pump on the newer line of skates to be more durable and put some molding foam underneath it to re enforce it. Other than that, im not sure if there is much of a difference. Theyre both pretty much the same skate.

If the skate fits you, has been great for you and will no doubt be cheaper than this years model, stop worrying about looking "outdated".

I rock a pair of One95's converted, but also regularly use a pair of original Mission Wicked Lights (around 8 years old), and also a number of converted Nike Zoom skates.

If the skates have worked for you so well, I would get over that feeling and go get another pair. You may find that you get the newer model and it just doesnt ever feel the same.

Thats not to say never buy a new model however! It just sounds as though getting the newer model isn't much of an upgrade in this situ.

Thanks for all the input.

Unfortunately, I checked on hockeymonkey and it says that they are out of the RBK 7K (in my size). So, it looks like I'm probably going to buy the RBK 6K or maybe even the RBK 8K.

Thanks Again,

AMHEFT

If you can swing the $$$$$ go for the 10k inline. I went from the 7k dusk to the 10k. Had my first game in them last week. Super light....so comfortable. The boot is alot stiffer and stable. The upgraded liner and pump are worth the money in my book.

Once again guys thanks for the input. Probably my final question (s) on this topic.

I've set my sights on two skates:

Reebok 8K Pump

or

Mission Axiom T7

Now my questions are, have the Mission skates gotten bigger, are they as wide as the Reebok skates, and other than the chassis;wheels;bearings, what are the key differences between these two skates?

Hopefully I can be swayed to one side by Sunday, I plan on ordering next week or maybe even this weekend.

Once Again Thanks,

AMHEFT
