Blade life questions

Hey guys, I want to practice my shots in my garage and I am worried about using my main stick for this because I am concerned about the affect it could have on the life of the blade/stick. Obviously normal wear is expected but do you guys have any suggestions so that all the extra friction from concrete compared to ice isnt so severe.

As well should I just use a normal puck or again will I be thrown off by the extra friction from the different surface.

A skill pad will save your blade and allow you to shoot rubber pucks well. Something like this.

or you can use an office chairmat for carpet. cheaper than a skillpad and does the same thing.
