The does the wooden extension that comes with the shaft have glue on it ? If not, any suggestions of removing it

Mine did. It came out with a little heat from my heat gun, just like removing a blade.

It's glued in but not very well. I didn't think to reset the extension whenever I got the shaft and it came loose when I was playing. You won't need a ton of heat to pull it out.

Thanks for the replies, I removed the piece with my heat gun.
