U+05 vs U+07 pants?

Recommended Posts

Bought a pair of U+05's because they were cheap.

Found that I am very sore after games because they don't offer much protection. Padding is a bit thin, pants ride up a bit if I fall, meaning my almost bare ass is riding the ice. (Maybe also because the pants are a little short and there is no padding behind the thighs)

Are the U+07's any better?

Cheers.

I think you got the wrong sized pants, or you aren't adjusting the belt properly. Did you buy them by yourself? Maybe you should get an employee to help...though judging from your name, there probably aren't any good shops down there.

I bought the U+07 over the 05 because of the extra protection and back pad. Very happy with them but, i do find CCM pants to be a tad shorter in length as i am coming from tackla's

Yeah, they were definately on the short side. I went off the CCM sizing charts, (I'm borderline between M and L according to the chart) but next time would get a size up.

Is the U+07 padding any thicker/heavier duty? In falls I'm getting winded with whopper ice bruises, whereas in my old cooper pants I'd be back up on my feet without feeling hardly anything.

Went into my LHS this morning, wanted to do a deal on pants but the sales guy was doing this frenetic hard-sell thing, so I quickly got out of there! The only good pants I could see were the Bauer X60's ($259) but would be hard to try them on and make a good decision with hard sell man on my case.

I find the the version of ccm pants i got were called CCM u+ le which is a source for sports custom. i bought them from the Hockey shop, they are basically a u+07 with CCM embroidered on the leg, there is a enough tailbone protection. The pants are light, i wish a tad longer maybe 1/2 in. Other than that very happy with them.

I have the Vector V08 in Large and Vector V06 in medium. The medium is definitely shorter and even though it has good protection the protection does me less good because... well, it's too short. I think it may be size issue. The v08 in large covers well down the back.

I also started playing with Vector 04 pants which are a lot more like the V05. the padding is a lot less in the V04 versus the V06. the V04 was, in my mind, more like a light version of the v06 and the V06 was the well designed blend of flexibilty and mobility versu weight and protection. The V08 is heavily focused on protection. From what I have seen, the U+ pant line seems to be about the same with U+05 being light and U+07 being balanced.

I jut picked up a pair of the U+07's the other day. I've yet to skate with them but the seem pretty padded.

Just had a good look at a pair of the U+07 in size M today. Apart from someone else's sweat all over them, I could tell there was very little difference between the U+05 and U+07 pants apart from some extra hard shell protection on the side, and the soft foam behind the thigh, but the butt was pretty much the same as far as I could tell.
