replacement blades

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone. I have a problem: the field where i play is very abrasive and replacement blades in carbon as Easton Synergy St or Easton Synergy Pro after two weeks are broken.

I was fine with the CCM V0.7 as these:http://prifa.com/prodotti.asp?id=811&pagina=1&catmain=14&catsub1=20&catsub2=&offerte=&search= , but unfortunately are 2008 and in stores like inlinewarehouse or Hockeymonkey not they sell more. What do you think I could buy as good as CCM V0.7 between reebok,Nike Bauer and Easton?Thank you very much.

Koho Crossover blade are great. I use either my Crossover, or a Titan TPM for outdoor which is still my fave outdoor stick after all these years :-)

Just wanted to also recommend the KOHO Crossover. I hate the curve, but the blade lasts and is very stiff. I would use nothing but this if I liked the curve.

The standard ABS KOHO is called the same curve (C21 - Jagr), but it is even more open and the blade flexes a lot. There is nothing I like about this blade.

The old Easton ABS (Forsberg at that time) worked great for me, but the newer design (curve now called Zetterberg) has broken both times within 2-3 uses. I love the curve, hate the construction.

I have not tried the Reebok ABS.

And finally, I will also put out a recommendation for the Sherwood PP09 Ryan (used to be Spezza). It is a little more curved and open than the Zetterberg curve. I bought two of these at a local sporting goods store, and one of the blades looked like it wasn't manufactured as well, and this one did break after 5-6 uses. I have been using the second one at least 6-7 uses now, and no signs of it breaking. The blade does flex a bit with pucks that have had extra weight added.

Easton has there Abs blade which is very stiff even when it gets worn down. They only make it in Zetterberg curve which is flater than all of the others. Frontier which is Montreal has an ABS blade which is similar to the Koho crossover with a similar blade style but has a flater curve than the C21. Reebok makes the 1K, 2k, and 3k, blades all of which are beefy for outdoor use but have a thinner core than most other blades.

Reeboks can be more flexable when used with a heavier puck. My over all opinion is for the frontier blade by montreal, It has a good price point for the usage i get out of it, but they can be hard to find. I know the LHS around me has them in stock from time to time. I stock up when we gets them in.

The Bauer one30 ABS blade is slightly stiffer than the Reebok 2k, but some people have said on this forum that it wears slightly quicker.

I'm using one for practice on an outdoor rink with painted asphalt (pretty rough)once every couple of weeks. I like the puck feel on it better than the 2k.

Has anyone tried the Koho ultimate blade? Im definitely going to try it out next, the reebok blades are so big (long and tall) and I didn't like the lie on the sherwood abs (pucks were going under the toe of my blade.)
