RBK 7K pants

Recommended Posts

Quick question for anyone with RBK pants, ive got last yrs RBK 7K pants which I think are similar to this yrs 9K's ? They have the adjustable thigh pads on inside with zipped leg inseams over the top on inside thigh. Ive used them for about 6 months and really love em as far as hockey pants go.

However ive noticed that at the inner thigh section that has the zip and velcro tab closure over the top, there's been a lot of rubbing of one leg against the other during skating and its resulted in the material fraying A LOT, the fraying is localised to this inner thigh area around the zipper part and its surrounds however these parts have almost worn through the material. Just wanting to find out if anyone else has the same problem at all?

Im just a little worried as I really like the pants and don't want em to die from this problem so quickly. Also if anyone else has this problem have you got any fixes for it, ive tried to put hockey tape all over it but that only lasts like 1 game then the tape starts to fall off....thanks guys

I have the 7k Pants, been using them over a year and have had no such problem, They are holding up quite well and show no signs of what you describe. I skate two to three times a week in a mens league. The only thing I have noticed is a small fraying of the fabric on the backside of one leg likely due to me sliding down the bench to make room for other players coming off the ice. To combat this I now get off my butt and walk the one or two steps down the bench. Would I buy these pants again...absolutely.

OK kool thanks, interesting to know. Yeah apart from the rubbing / fraying at inside leg I rate these pants and somehow want to prevent further deterioration. I guess i may either have a wierd skating stride or i suspect sizing maybe a prob as im borderline between small and med - i got the mediums but they maybe a that little big and maybe loose around that spot which maybe causing the rubbing even though they feel fine size wise to me...

Did you guys feel like the front thigh pads were almost TOO curved? it felt like they almost stuck out to a point at the front, and squeezed my leg on the sides. Very weird feeling...

The pants do run big, I'm a 34 waist and take a large according to the sizing instructions but could certainly fit into a medium. I really have to cinch the two belt straps pretty tight....

As far as the question from Optimus.... I have had no issue with the thigh pad, they feel and appear normal to me. If you are new to the pant they can be a little odd at first since the thigh pad is not sewn into the leg of the pant like most others and is fully adjustable-(both length & width) similar to a girdle.

yer kinda same here, got med's - am a med in pretty much everything else but could have probs taken a small, have to do the belts right up too. Ive glued some hockey tape to the inside leg, hopefully that keeps em going a bit longer!

As for the thigh pad shape, nope have found the inside wrap round thigh guards to fit fine, if yours are new probs need to give it a few skates to break in and form the the shape of your thigh
