Bauer 920 shield/cage combo

I have acquired a Bauer 920 Deluxe combo shield/cage and was wondering whether anyone knows if the wire cage portion can be removed and just the shield used. The shield portion of the combo looks nearly identical (save for the screw holes on the side to attach the wire cage) to the Bauer HLC Half Shield. My hope is to be able to attach just the shield portion of the combo to a second helmet I have when coaching my kids on ice. I always wear a full cage when playing. Thanks much.

I would just go with a halfer. I don't think that you will be able to cut the cage off the 920.

It actually appears to only be fastened by 4 screws so no cutting or other "modifications" would be necessary.

I have had one for three years all you need to do is take the 4 screws out and the cage drops right off
