Twigs: Bauer One100 vs. Easton Synergy ST

Recommended Posts

I've been using the Synergy ST 115 Chara stick for the past couple of months on the fact that it's 65" long and I don't have to put an extension in the stick. I also picked up a pro-stock Vapor X:60 stick at the SJ Sharks sale (Rob Blake, 63") last summer but I absolutely have grown to hate the feel of it. It feel "pingy" and receiving passes is hit or miss.

For folks that have used the ST, I'm interested if any of you have also used the One100. I haven't tried any of the Supreme sticks and this looks like an interesting option since it does come in a 112 flex option.

-Thanks, Todd

The One100 is the same make up and build as the One95 from years past. Very good feeling stick, however when compared to the ST the durability isnt as good. Since the One100 technically used to be a top of the line high end stick when it was the One95, it has a very high performance rating but a much lower durability rating.

The ST is the exact opposite, very high durability rating (thick side walls on shaft, and thick tougher blade), and lower performance.

I've owned a one95 and an ST, so pretty close to what you're looking at. As the previous poster said, the one100 is apparently fairly similar to the one95, though I've never actually tried a one100. I'm basically just elaborating on what he said here.

The one95, like the ST, is not pingy, like the ST it's a very forgiving blade for passes. I preferred the puck feel overall with the one95, had a better sense of where the puck was on my blade without looking down. I much preferred the one95 for wrist and snap shots, you could really feel the flex and release, shooting just felt natural and powerful. I don't like how the ST flexes, I feel like the stick doesn't give me as much feedback/response, and my wrist/snap shots weren't as hard or effortless. Note that at the same flex rating I felt like the one95 was significantly whippier than the ST. Slap shots were similar, both great slap shot sticks, I liked how they felt in my hands/arms more with the one95, felt smoother, but I think my slap shot was roughly as good with either stick. The one95 was also lighter, and I personally prefer the shape of the shaft, and the grip coating (Bauer is really the only company that has grip coatings nailed, subtle enough that it doesn't really affect hand movement when stick handling, but is there where you clamp down for a shot). The ST was definitely way more durable for me though, my ST is still going strong around a year after I bought it and just seems able to take endless abuse, my one95 broke in under 2 months.

Basically I liked everything better with the one95 except durability, which is where the ST shines. Not that the ST is a bad performing stick, still better performance than entry level sticks, but it simply does not perform/feel like a high end stick. However, you are not me, if you like a really stiff stick the ST might be stiffer (would have to try them both, or at least give them both a little flex side by side), and I think you'd have to put a plug in the 112 flex one100 to get it to the length you want?

Ive used the one95 and ST (but not the one100) Id go with the one100 over the ST ANYDAY. THe one95 is very durable, I've had mine for along time. I even smashed it overthe crossbar once which left a nice crack, but did not break, and I've continued to use it for months.

The ST has a different feel, as in you cant. I LOVE the puck feel of the one95 on the blade, and I love the slap shots. The one thing holding me back right now from buying a one100 is $. For what its worth STs are on sale all over the place right now, I;ve seen em for as low as $120-130ish after discounts. (hockey monkey I believe)
