Stick Flex Thread No 2

Recommended Posts

Noticed that the first stick flex thread was locked. I totally agree that shooting is very subjective from player to player, but we do measure the flex of many of the larger and smaller manufacturers sticks, then field test them. We do see a correlation regarding negative or positive performance between the flexes printed on the sticks and the flexes as measured on our Oggie Tru-Flex. Too bad that the manufacturers do not show us any love. We have a lot to share.

How do you find the flex ratings to compare to the actual ratings given on sticks that have the lowered kickpoints (ex. X60, Widow, etc)?

Just wondering if the method of measurement and ensuing result is skewed heavily by the differing kickpoints.

The flex ratings for many of the manufacturers are typically based on a 1000mm (39.37") long beam 3-point deflection measurement at 1".

The ratings indicated by many stick manufacturers are for the shaft flex only. So yes, we feel that the results are skewed when you take the kick-point and other factors into account.
