Graf Tongue Issue

I have a pair of Graf Ultra G5 and the laces wore a hole through the tongue. It's the older-style black tongue and I've heard this problem isn't all that uncommon. I'm trying to decide if I should replace the tongues or not and the only replacement tongues I could find are size 11, but my skate is 10.5. Would there be a fit issue/has anyone else had this problem before?

11 tongue would fit perfectly fine on a 10.5. If there really is a hole worn through them then you don't have any options other than to replace.

Is it gone to the point of not providing any support? Maybe just glue on another felt peice?

It is really easy to replace it actually, you just need to find someone who knows what their doing and he/she will have it like brand new! II use to do that kind of an installation and my buddies skates are reebok 10K's with a graf tongue and Bauer TUUK supports!, the Tongue modification is probably the less complicated. you should change that asap before you get lace bite!!! Very painful.

No support left. It's like a 1 inch cut in my tongue right at the second eyelet from the top.

I tried stitching it shut, but it seems like the stitching won't grip the foam in the tongue. I did think about your option though, stitching something front to back on the tongue so the stitches grip that material (leather?).

Your best bet would be to find a graf retailer and order it directly from them! or else your gonna have a hard time finding exactly the one you one because there are a couple of different tongues from which you can chose from.

I definitely want to go back to the white felt tongue. I had them on a pair of 705's and had no problems for years. Correct me if I'm wrong, but from what I've read I thought the Graf tongues all had the same width so they were interchangeable?

Yes they are interchangeable, except there are tongues that are heat moldable, and do take up more space.
