Bend frame

Recommended Posts

Hey, i bought a Bauer RX25(9R) skates as year ago and started roller hockey last 3 months as part of my off season training. I come from ice hockey and are currently using the Bauer T.O(9D) skates. I noticed that the RX25 fits wider at the toe area and a little longer. my issues was with only 2hr x 3 days of inline outdoor court. My boot totally went jello on me. And noticed that my right frame was bend, my dominant foot. Now, i'm planning to get myself a new pair of skates, Bauer RX60 or maybe T9. Is it my skating technique or just applying too much pressure that causes my frame to bend ?

Sounds like the skates are too big. I had that problem with some mis-sized Mission skates and the frames bent a lot. Unless you got a bad skate, the RX25 should be more durable than that.

It actually fits me well overall, only the toe cap area is a little wider then the D range. Also not to mention, the boots are soft for my liking.

I did a review of the sizing issues with Bauer Vapor RX series. There is quite a bit of difference between the RX:60's and the RX:25's. Check it out for details on sizing. I have had both, and I am quite surprised that you had a "boot" break down that quickly. My 25's were really solid. Not surprised about the bent chassis, they are the aluminum chassis and are susceptable to bending if enough pressure is applied... with a feet first crash into the boards or a hard slap shot to front or rear tips of the chassis. The RX:60's use the Magnesium chassis and are much tougher. The RX:60 boot is certainly stiffer as well. If you can spare the change for a set of the 60's I was highly recommend them!

Thanks for the reply, have you tried the T9s? how would you compare the 2 pair if you had experience. I weight bout 190lbs, Plays D if that helps. I'm actually surprised myself that the boot gave up so early on me..

I have never tried the T9's, but from what I have heard they are a bit more of an upright skate and not quite as well padded in the ankle... But still an outstanding boot and they also have Magnesium chassis.
